Angeliki Galanopoulou leaves Google after 7.5 years to focus on podcast and career break
Former Senior Client Partner shares departure and next steps via LinkedIn, with a shift toward independent work and content creation.
Google employee Angeliki Galanopoulou has left the company after more than seven years, confirming the move in a series of LinkedIn posts. Galanopoulou most recently worked as a Senior Client Partner in travel, advising senior leaders on strategy in the AI era.
Angeliki Galanopoulou wrote on LinkedIn that her time at Google came to an end after 7.5 years, describing the decision as difficult: “After 7.5 incredible years, Sunday was my last day.”
Reflecting on her experience at the company, she added: “My time at Google shaped me as a professional. But mostly, it shaped who I am as a person.”
In the same post, Galanopoulou outlined what she described as the defining aspects of her time at Google, including working alongside “SO many talented individuals,” developing leadership skills, and building her own capabilities in areas such as AI.
She wrote: “Being part of a company leading innovation benefited my own upskilling (hello AI) and showed me how our work makes a real difference in the world.”
Focus on podcast and career break
In a follow-up LinkedIn post, Galanopoulou shared that she is now focusing on her podcast, The Adaptive Times, during a planned career break: “I'm excited to announce I've accepted a new position... at The Adaptive Times podcast”
She described the role as self-directed and covering multiple responsibilities, adding: “One that is unpaid, I’m the boss, but also the entire team. Producer. Host. Editor. Social media manager. The list goes on.”
Galanopoulou also said she is taking time to step back and reassess her next move, writing that the break is intended to “refill my energy tank while exploring what's next.”
Background across marketing, leadership, and upskilling
During her time at Google, Galanopoulou worked across retail and travel sectors, leading client strategy and digital transformation initiatives. Her role included advising C-level executives, managing cross-functional teams, and supporting long-term business planning.
Alongside her core role, she also worked as a career and leadership coach, focusing on communication, decision-making, and career progression, as well as mentoring through Google for Startups.
Her recent posts indicate she remains open to advisory work, coaching, and conversations around creators, marketing, and career development while developing her podcast.
