Eagle Eye Networks launches $1 million grant, offering safety and security for schools, colleges and universities
Eagle Eye Networks, a cloud video surveillance specialist, has launched a $1 million grant, providing safety and security for students and staff at schools, colleges and universities.
Grant recipients will receive up to one year of funding for the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS and associated components.
The system includes cameras, gun detection, 911 camera sharing, cloud storage, vape sensors, and built-in analytics.
Eagle Eye’s gun detection uses two levels of AI and one level of human verification to create a proactive system that prevents and detects concerns. If a gun is detected, advanced cloud AI instantly transmits the footage to the Eagle Eye Cloud for analysis by a large scale AI model, providing accuracy and reducing the risk of false alarms. Human review staffed by trained professionals will confirm that a weapon is present and execute the school’s emergency response
School shootings continue to occur regularly across the United States. In 2024, there were 56 school shooting incidents. The continued frequency of violent incidents has prompted many school districts to invest in security and prevention measures.
“We are on a mission at Eagle Eye to help schools change the way they use security cameras,” comments Eagle Eye CEO Dean Drako. “Eagle Eye AI Gun Detection integrates with existing security cameras to detect brandished firearms in real-time, enabling proactive responses during an emergency.”
This is the third grant provided by Eagle Eye Networks and will be awarded on an ongoing basis.
