Salta Group adopts D2L Brightspace to streamline digital learning across professional and online education

Education provider in the Benelux region will implement Brightspace to streamline delivery and improve platform consistency across its training divisions.

Salta Group, a private education provider operating across the Benelux region (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg), is adopting D2L Brightspace to streamline its digital education systems.

The platform will serve as the primary learning management system (LMS) for both its Professional Education and Online Education divisions.

With a network of 25 training organizations, Salta Group supports over one million learners and 15,000 employers annually. The company focuses on lifelong development for learners at all stages of life and work.

Saskia van Houten, director of the ICT division for online education at Salta Group, says the decision to shift to a single LMS follows a period of fragmentation. “Digital learning is a crucial part of Salta Group’s strategy, but over time it had accumulated many different systems, processes and technologies. It was inefficient and didn’t focus enough on the student journey, which constrained digital progress,” she says.

Evaluation process leads to Brightspace adoption

The decision follows an extended procurement process that includes user testing and a comparison of several providers. Salta Group evaluates platforms on multiple criteria, including user experience, design tools, and support for large-scale delivery.

Brightspace offers analytics, automation tools, and course creation features such as Creator+. The platform is already used by schools, colleges, and training providers in multiple countries.

D2L, a global learning technology company with over 25 years of experience, provides online and blended learning tools for more than 20 million users. The company supports educational institutions, enterprise customers, and membership-based organizations.

Rob Telfer, director of higher education EMEA at D2L, says the partnership reflects a shared focus on accessible, scalable learning. “Salta Group strives to make lifelong development attainable for all, and this is something that resonates deeply with us,” he says. “Through this collaboration, we will help leverage technology to better optimise learning experiences and provide more accessible education for learners.”
