French club Karmine Corp defeat Geekay Esports to secure second major Rocket League title of the year at EWC 2025.

French esports team Karmine Corp have claimed the Rocket League trophy at the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) in Riyadh, following a 4-1 victory over Geekay Esports. The win marks the club’s second major title of the year and earns them a $400,000 share of the $1 million prize pool.
The team previously won the Birmingham Major in early 2025 and now head into the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) World Championship as strong contenders. Their only major loss this year came at the Raleigh Major, where they were beaten by Twisted Minds.
Route to the final and match recap
Karmine Corp advanced to the final after defeating Team Falcons in the semifinal round. In the grand final, the team secured a 3-0 lead before conceding their first goal of the match in game four, allowing Geekay Esports to claim one win. However, Karmine Corp responded quickly, closing out the series in the fifth game to win 4-1 overall.
Geekay Esports reached the final after a close semifinal battle against Team Vitality. That match extended to a seventh game and overtime, where Geekay secured a golden goal to advance.
Team Falcons ultimately secured third place by defeating Team Vitality in the decider, gaining 500 Club Championship points and strengthening their lead over second-place Team Liquid.
Awards and championship points
Karmine Corp’s performance at EWC 2025 earned them 1000 Club Championship points, moving them up 34 places into joint-eleventh position. The club also placed fifth in another competition earlier in the tournament.
Axel "Vatira" Touret commented on the win: “I’m feeling great, it was a good match, we played really well, and I'm proud of my team. I love my team. It means a lot [to win], they will have more money now, so that’s a good point. I’m really happy to be in Karmine Corp, and yeah, we just won, so I’m really proud of everyone.”
Samy "dralii" Hajji was named SONY MVP following his performance throughout the tournament. “I always play really well in Saudi Arabia, I think it’s the hospitality, and even the tournaments. I love them, they are incredible,” said Hajji. The win marks his third Rocket League major title and a second consecutive EWC championship after his 2024 victory with Team BDS.
