Keeper Security launches back-to-school cybersecurity guide to help schools address increasing cyber threats
Keeper Security, a cybersecurity specialist, has shared a new guide specifically aimed at educators.

Cybersecurity in Schools 2025: A Family and Educator Guide offers practical recommendations to help schools and families keep digital environments safe and secure, protecting sensitive information as cyberthreats against the education sector increase.
Research conducted by Keeper has found that just 14 percent of schools currently mandate cybersecurity training. At the same time, Keeper says ransomware attacks on schools, colleges and universities increased by 23 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2025.
"Cybersecurity delivers the greatest value when it is proactive rather than reactive," comments Darren Guccione, CEO and Co-founder at Keeper Security. "By making strong security simple and accessible, schools can remain focused on education – and students on learning – without the disruptions or distractions posed by today's sophisticated cybersecurity threats."
The guide covers the latest statistics on cybersecurity risks in education, actionable checklists and best practice for creating safer digital learning environments, and guidance on addressing the rise of AI-driven cybersecurity threats.
Keeper previously launched the Flex Your Cyber initiative in 2024, aiming to provide students, parents, and educators with resources about safer and more secure online practice.
Earlier this week, The Information Commission’s Office has warned schools in the that their own students could pose a threat to cybersecurity as it identified a “worrying pattern” in the culprits behind data breaches.
