Golden Gate University completed a five-day Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) immersion in Singapore that integrated Generative AI into doctoral research, business strategy, and applied learning. Reflections shared by participants on LinkedIn showed how AI tools were used as part of core research design and business thinking rather than treated as optional add-ons.

In a LinkedIn post reflecting on the immersion, AI researcher Shuchita Singh described the structure and focus of the program, writing, “This immersion beautifully blended academic rigor, real-world business thinking, and Generative AI applications—from business plans and books to thesis development.”

According to Singh’s post, the immersion included deep dives into business planning, book structuring, and dissertation frameworks, alongside expert-led sessions covering GenAI business cases, strategy, storytelling with data, and change management. Participants also worked through hands-on, team-based Generative AI case studies and presentations.

Research design, feedback, and academic direction

The immersion placed a strong emphasis on research direction and methodological clarity. Singh noted that structured feedback during the program helped refine doctoral focus and alignment, writing, “The feedback on thesis ideation and research direction was incredibly valuable—helping sharpen the problem statement, strengthen alignment with impact, and bring clarity to the research path ahead.”

Additional LinkedIn posts highlighted sessions focused on topic proposal development and dissertation thinking, reinforcing the connection between academic rigor and applied relevance in AI-informed research environments.

Rather than positioning AI as a standalone subject, the DBA immersion integrated Generative AI into how research questions were framed, tested, and translated into business outcomes. The approach reflects a broader shift in advanced business education, where AI is increasingly treated as part of the research infrastructure shaping doctoral work, leadership training, and real-world application.
