EdShed launches Bee Sieged spelling game designed to help children improve their spelling skills
EdShed, an educational company focused on digital learning tools, has launched a new spelling game called Bee Sieged.

Children playing Bee Sieged are tasked with defending the queen bee against waves of enemies, such as ants and bugs. Players must spell words between rounds to earn resources to strengthen their defences and see how long they can last.
The game adapts to each player’s spelling ability and is fully integrated into Spelling Shed’s Mastery Zone, allowing words to be automatically added to each pupil’s level.
EdShed says more than 100,000 children played the game within the first ten days of its launch, playing 770,000 games.
One teacher comments: “A child in my class is absolutely loving this game. He struggles to regulate in class and has found that this helps him settle!"
“It’s important to keep our games relevant for children, especially as they progress through primary school,” comments Rob Smith, Chair of Education at EdShed. “Bee Sieged has been created to offer a format that resonates with older pupils while still delivering the rigour and practice needed to support their development.”
EdShed is also behind games including Phonics Shed, Spelling Shed, and Math Shed and is currently used by 2.5 million children worldwide.
