AI-powered platform Mimir launches worldwide as it aims to provide ‘the Canva of language learning’
While the platform was previously only available through institutional partnerships, Mimir can now be accessed by individual users across the world.
"We've seen incredible engagement and outcomes from classrooms across the US, and now we're thrilled to make the same tools available directly to global learners," explains Mengting Hou, Founder and CEO at Mimir.
"Language learning shouldn't be about memorizing lists — it should be about understanding people, stories, and cultures. That's why we designed Mimir like the Canva of language learning — a space where everyone can create, customize, and explore what truly inspires them."
Mimir is already used by thousands of students and educators across California, New York City, Washington, Louisiana, and Colorado. It claims to support a 60 percent improvement in memory retention and 35 percent increase in learning-outcome gains.
For individual users, Mimir says it can offer creative freedom to choose videos, stories, and topics that interest them to create a personalized learning journey supported by AI tools for pronunciation, comprehension, and cultural context.
The news follows shortly after Mimir shared the results of a new study that shows its video-first content results in a “learning curve spike” compared to traditional language learning methods.
