ASU launches ASU London as U.K.-accredited institution offering dual-degree pathways

Arizona State University is expanding its global education footprint with ASU London, a new U.K.-accredited institution offering dual U.S. and U.K. degrees and project-based learning in the heart of London.

Arizona State University has announced the creation of ASU London, expanding its presence in the United Kingdom with a new U.K.-accredited institution designed to offer dual-degree pathways and project-based learning.

The development was shared by ASU President Michael Crow, who took to LinkedIn to outline the plans and link to the university’s full announcement.

ASU is a U.S.-based public research university and a member of the Association of American Universities. The new institution builds on its previous work in London through The Engineering & Design Institute London (TEDI-London), which launched in 2020.

New institution will offer dual-degree routes and applied learning models

ASU London will offer degree programs combining a three-year U.K. bachelor’s degree with an accelerated one-year master’s degree from ASU, enabling students to earn both qualifications in as little as four years. Initial subjects include engineering, business management, computer science, and electrical and electronic engineering.

In his LinkedIn post, Michael Crow says: “Students will have the opportunity to earn dual U.K. and U.S. degrees in as little as four years, gaining both practical experience and global perspectives.”

Crow adds that ASU London “blends the best of British higher education and American innovation in applied learning, all from one of the world’s great cities.”

Degrees will incorporate ASU’s applied learning approach, with students working on real projects from the start of their programs.

Curriculum shaped with industry partners and aligned to TEDI-London model

ASU states that the new institution will continue the project-based learning model used at TEDI-London. Curriculum themes will include sustainability, AI, smart cities, user-centered design, and manufacturing, with projects developed alongside industry and community partners.

Catherine O’Donnell, assistant vice provost for undergraduate education at ASU, says: “When the business students arrive, they’re considered entrepreneurs and they’re engaged in projects from day one. When engineering students arrive, they’re considered engineers engaged in projects from day one.”

ASU London’s programs are being designed with ASU faculty and U.K.-based academics in collaboration with sector experts. Students will study on the Clerkenwell campus of City, University of London from autumn 2026, forming part of an existing student community.

Professor Sir Malcolm Grant, chair of the board of trustee directors of ASU London, says: “ASU London allows students to learn as professionals in training — working on real projects, developing technical, professional and leadership skills sought by employers worldwide.”

Expansion supports ASU’s international strategy and broader student network

ASU London is not a branch campus but an independent U.K.-accredited institution developed with Cintana Education, ASU’s partner in delivering academic programs and resources globally. It will provide an additional study option for the 330,000 learners within the ASU-Cintana Alliance, as well as a study-abroad route for ASU students.

Crow says the development reflects ASU’s wider educational mission. “We’re in the business of changing people’s lives and changing people’s futures,” he says. “We will continue to expand our efforts and our impact to engage with learners all over the world.”

Future plans surrounding the launch include events in London next autumn. ASU also notes that ASU and the University of Kansas will participate in the Union Jack Classic at Wembley Stadium in September 2026.

ASU Executive Vice President and University Provost Nancy Gonzales says: “ASU is deeply committed to preparing students to contribute as global citizens — individuals who can bridge cultural perspectives, collaborate across borders and contribute solutions to the pressing challenges of our time.”

She adds: “ASU London represents an extraordinary opportunity for ASU to extend that mission. By embedding students in the heart of one of the world’s great cities and providing pathways to ASU graduate degrees in high-demand fields, we are creating a unique opportunity for interested students across the globe.”
