Raptor enhances school safety with new two new control integrations

Raptor Technologies, a U.S.-based provider of school safety and student wellbeing, has announced new integrations for its emergency management system, enabling real-time, automated physical security measures during emergencies.

Schools can now use the integrations, called Rhombus and Kisi, to initiate immediate lockdowns and manage building access through Raptor Technologies’ secure cloud-based panic alert and emergency management platform.

The Rhombus integration allows schools to initiate immediate facility lockdowns, activate door locks and block unauthorized access. The integration also allows for video verification and enhanced device visibility to give administrators and first responders comprehensive situational awareness.

The Kisi integration automatically executes a lockdown event after a Raptor Alert or Badge Alert, locking selected doors, suspending access schedules and preventing unauthorised entry. The feature aims to give administrators more control over building access during critical moments.

Raptor, which is a safety partner for 60,000 schools across 55 countries, says the new integrations, to be used in K-12 schools, will better protect students, staff and campuses by securing access points and integrating door controls into a school’s broader response protocol. It says this will reduce the amount of time it takes to implement physical security measures during high-stress events.

“These integrations mark a significant step forward in creating safe and secure environments for learning,” says Chris Noell, Chief Product Officer at Raptor. “By incorporating physical access control into our emergency management platform, we deliver faster and more reliable responses, helping protect our schools when it matters most.”

The systems are now available to Raptor Alert customers using Rhombus or Kisi systems.

Last month, Raptor launched a new product designed to reduce risks during end-of-day student dismissals. The platform, Raptor DismissalSafe, is now part of the company’s broader School Safety Suite.
