Indian EdTech company Beep raises 850K USD to scale AI career platform for Tier 2 and Tier 3 students

Pune-based provider targets 5 million users and 150 new colleges as outcome-driven learning and AI hiring gain momentum.

Indian EdTech company Beep has raised 850K USD in a Pre-Series A funding round to expand its AI-driven career platform, with a focus on students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

The Pune-based company says the capital will support growth to 5 million users and the onboarding of 150 additional colleges within the next nine months, as it looks to strengthen career access beyond major metropolitan hubs.

The round was backed by Knowhere Ventures LLC, Pacific Global Solutions Limited, LeadAngels FLV, and individual investors Vipul Prakash, Founder of wowJobs, and Sandeep Johri, CEO of Checkmarx. With this raise, Beep’s total funding to date stands at 1.5M USD.

Targeting regional access gaps

Beep positions its platform around access inequality in India’s higher education and hiring ecosystem. In India, Tier 1 cities including Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru benefit from mature hiring ecosystems and strong industry networks. By contrast, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities often face gaps in internship access, mentorship, and structured campus placement support.

The company says the new funding will be used to expand user acquisition, deepen college partnerships, and build additional industry-aligned programs focused on job-ready skills. Beep currently runs more than 28 live programs across design, work-ready certification, and experiential internship tracks.

Saurabh Mangrulkar, Founder and CEO of Beep, says: “Tier 2 and Tier 3 students have the same ambition as Tier 1, only the system does not give them the same access. This fundraise is fuel for our mission to build a Tier 1 like career ecosystem at scale, where every student can explore, learn and earn faster, smarter and with real outcomes. Along with this, we have launched new product upgrades across the Beep ecosystem, including AI career tools, job ready learning programs and stronger recruiter and college workflows to improve real student outcomes.”

The company reports that more than 30,000 students and early professionals have secured placements, internships, or gig opportunities through the platform.

AI-led hiring and institutional tools

Founded in 2021 during the second wave of COVID-19, Beep began as a student discussion space before expanding into a broader career platform. The company states it now serves over 6.5 million users, partners with more than 1,500 colleges, and works with 7,800 hiring companies across India.

Its product suite includes a career-building app offering mentorship, resume support, and job access; professional upskilling programs with placement assistance; UniBeep for institutional placement management; and BeepHire.ai, which focuses on AI-powered fresher recruitment.

The platform combines structured mentorship, industry-aligned learning, and AI-driven hiring tools designed to shorten the transition from education to employment.

Funding reflects employability focus

The raise comes as EdTech investors and institutions increasingly prioritize measurable employment outcomes over engagement metrics alone. Platforms are under pressure to demonstrate clear pathways from learning to earning, particularly in markets where graduate underemployment remains a concern.

By concentrating on Tier 2 and Tier 3 ecosystems, Beep is targeting regions where student demand is high but hiring infrastructure is uneven. The next nine months will test whether scaling college partnerships and AI-enabled hiring tools can translate into consistent placement outcomes at volume.
