Canva has opened applications for Campus Canvassadors, a new student ambassador program for U.S. university students who want to support creativity, community-building and Canva use on campus.
The first Campus Canvassadors cohort will run from August to December 2026. Applications are open now, with the first round of candidates due to be notified by July 24. Later applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
The program is aimed at student leaders at U.S. universities with at least one year of enrollment left on campus. Canva said it is prioritizing applications from students enrolled at Canva for Campus schools, which provide students with free Canva Pro licenses, although students do not need to be designers or Canva experts to apply.
Jason Wilmot, Head of Sales and Success at Canva, announced the application window on LinkedIn, writing that the company is “currently accepting students from U.S. universities to help lead the way.”
He added: “As our first cohort of Campus Canvassadors, you'll help bring that mission to life on your campus by collaborating with existing student organizations.”
Campus leaders will run events and support student groups
Campus Canvassadors are expected to help other students explore Canva’s creative tools through workshops, trainings, tutorials, design tips, creative challenges and campus events.
The role also includes working with student organizations to support their use of Canva design tools, as well as offering guidance and collaboration in campus community spaces.
Canva describes the program as a way for student leaders to champion creativity by helping peers learn, teach and create. Applicants are also invited to suggest their own ideas for how they would represent Canva on campus.
The application guidance asks students to demonstrate knowledge of their campus community, experience in leadership, community-building or event planning, and examples of design or creative work. Canva also asks applicants to submit a short introductory video.
Perks include Canva Pro, funds and affiliate access
The Campus Canvassadors role is not paid. Selected students will be eligible to join Canva’s Affiliate program for commission earnings. Canva also says Campus Leaders will receive community funds to turn campus ideas into projects, a one-year Canva Pro code for students not already covered by Canva Campus plans, swag, branded materials and supplies for events.
The program also includes trial codes for event attendees, access to Canva’s global student community, exclusive online and in-person events, and the opportunity to help shape future Campus Canvassadors activity and product features.
Canva says it expects to select one to two Campus Leaders per campus. Successful applicants will hear from a Canva Campus Community Manager for onboarding and connection with other students at their university and across the wider program.
The time commitment is described as “a couple of hours a week, not a full-time commitment.” Students may also have the option to continue for an additional term, subject to eligibility.
The U.S. Campus Canvassadors program sits alongside Canva’s other university student programs in different regions.
Canva points non-U.S. students toward the UK Gen Creative Student Ambassador program and India’s Canva Champs Student Marketing program. The company also says more regions will be added as the program grows.
The U.S. program gives Canva another route into higher education, student life and campus organizations, with a model built around peer-led events, creative templates, tutorials and student community projects.
