TaxStatus and VenturEd introduce Easy Apply to cut private school financial aid application time
TaxStatus and VenturEd Solutions have introduced Easy Apply, a new process allowing families to consent to direct IRS data access and reduce the time needed to complete financial aid applications.
TaxStatus and VenturEd Solutions have released Easy Apply, a new workflow that allows families to authorize direct access to IRS data when completing financial aid applications through School and Student Services, VenturEd’s financial aid platform.
TaxStatus provides consent-based access to IRS-verified financial records for financial institutions and software providers.
The companies say the feature removes repeated tax-related questions and eliminates the need for families to upload tax documents manually. Kevin Knull, CEO of TaxStatus, says: “Easy Apply represents a major step forward in how verified tax data can be used to simplify the financial aid application process for private K-12 schools.”
Initial rollout shows early usage
Easy Apply became available on 2 September. According to the announcement, more than 3,500 families have used the new process within School and Student Services. The companies report that application times have been reduced by more than fifty percent for families who opt in.
Knull adds: “Together with VenturEd, we’re turning what used to be a barrier for many families into a seamless, secure experience.”
Nick Laird, CEO of VenturEd Solutions, says: “This transformation of the application process isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a revolution in how families access opportunity.”
VenturEd and TaxStatus say IRS-verified data is intended to reduce administrative work for school financial aid teams. Feedback from early users highlights reduced document-tracking requirements.
Amy deBorst, Director of Financial Aid at Greenhill School, says: “When families opt in to TaxStatus integrated into SSS, I no longer spend time tracking down tax documents. The IRS-approved verification is a true game-changer—giving us accurate, multi-year financial data and allowing families to complete their applications faster.”
The companies have also introduced the AffordAbility Calculator, a tool that estimates tuition assistance eligibility using family income and historical aid patterns. The feature forms part of the broader partnership announced in January 2025, which integrated TaxStatus into School and Student Services to automate retrieval of IRS-verified records.
Laird concludes: “With the integration of IRS data through our partnership with TaxStatus, we’ve shattered the barriers of outdated processes, so schools can focus on families, not paperwork.”
