Google Cloud Marketing Chief Alison Wagonfeld set to join NVIDIA as Chief Marketing Officer

The senior executive confirmed her move on LinkedIn, marking a high-profile shift between two closely linked AI and cloud leaders.

Alison Wagonfeld is leaving Google Cloud to take on the role of Chief Marketing Officer at NVIDIA, according to a post shared on LinkedIn.

Wagonfeld, who has spent nearly a decade helping build Google Cloud’s marketing organization, said she will depart Google in late January to join NVIDIA as it enters its next phase of growth. The move brings together two companies that already work closely across cloud infrastructure and AI acceleration.

Google Cloud provides enterprise cloud services including Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace, while NVIDIA develops AI hardware, software, and platforms used across data centers, research, and education.

In her post, Wagonfeld reflected on the scale of change at Google Cloud since joining in 2016, when the business was still in its early stages.

Wagonfeld wrote, “After nearly 10 years of building Google Cloud from a promising start-up in 2016 to a thriving $60B run-rate business today, I will be leaving Google in late January to join NVIDIA as its Chief Marketing Officer.”

Wagonfeld added, “I’m excited to be joining Jensen’s leadership team in a new role heading up Marketing and Communications as NVIDIA embarks on its next phase of growth.”

Departure follows decade of cloud expansion

Wagonfeld described her time at Google Cloud as spanning multiple phases of growth, crediting internal teams and leadership for the organization’s evolution.

Reflecting on her tenure, Wagonfeld said, “It’s been such a privilege to lead Google Cloud Marketing through so many chapters of growth. While many things have changed over the last decade, Google’s commitment to serving customers and partners with the best technology and team has never been stronger.”

She also acknowledged collaboration across Google’s leadership and marketing teams, thanking Lorraine Twohill, Thomas Kurian, and the broader Cloud Marketing organization.

Wagonfeld positioned the transition as a continuation rather than a departure from the AI space, pointing to the existing relationship between the two companies. She wrote, “I’m thrilled to be moving from one AI leader to another at such a transformational time. Google and NVIDIA share a strong partnership, and we look forward to continued collaboration.”
