Speechify rolls out new Snoop Dogg AI voice powered by SIMBA

The text-to-speech platform has refreshed one of its most recognizable voices, reflecting how early creator partnerships continue to shape its AI roadmap.

Speechify has updated its Snoop Dogg AI voice using its latest SIMBA voice model, marking the latest iteration of a partnership that dates back to the early days of the company’s voice AI work.

The update was shared by Rohan Pavuluri, Chief Business Officer at Speechify, who took to LinkedIn to explain how the collaboration began and why the voice remains closely tied to the platform’s identity.

Speechify provides AI-powered text-to-speech software used by learners, professionals, and organizations to convert written content into audio for accessibility, learning, and productivity.

According to Pavuluri, the partnership began in 2022, when Speechify approached Snoop Dogg about becoming an AI voice on the platform.

Recalling the initial moment, Pavuluri wrote on LinkedIn, “It's 2022 and we get a call...Snoop Dogg said yes to Speechify. He's excited to partner as an AI voice across our platform. We rush to his house in LA the same day and start recording.” He explained that the team initially arrived with prepared scripts for the recording session, but the approach quickly changed once they were in the studio. Pavuluri added, “But in his recording studio, Snoop quickly turns to us and says: ‘I got this. I've been doing this since you were all tadpoles.’”

Voice becomes a defining product feature

Pavuluri said the recording process was led largely by Snoop Dogg himself, resulting in the first version of the voice being released shortly after. Reflecting on the impact of that release, Pavuluri said, “Soon thereafter, we launched V1 of Snoop's voice on Speechify and it's often the first thing new people I meet bring up about Speechify.”

Since then, the voice has remained a recognizable part of the platform as Speechify expanded its AI voice offerings and worked with other high-profile creators.

Confirming the latest update, Pavuluri said, “Today, we're excited to launch the newest Snoop Dogg voice on Speechify, powered by our latest SIMBA AI voice model.” He added, “Snoop's iconic voice has come to be a part of our brand.”
