STEM Racing UK calls for industry judges ahead of regional competitions

The education program took to LinkedIn to recruit professionals and alumni to judge upcoming UK STEM Racing events as the regional finals calendar ramps up.

STEM Racing UK has taken to LinkedIn to recruit judges for its upcoming UK competitions, as the organization prepares for a full calendar of regional and national events.

STEM Racing UK runs a classroom-based STEM competition where students design, engineer, and race miniature cars while managing elements such as project planning, innovation, and presentation. The program operates across primary and secondary age groups and culminates in national finals.

In its LinkedIn post, STEM Racing UK said it is “always in need of passionate professionals and amazing alumni” to support judging at UK events. The call is open to individuals interested in attending one or multiple competitions across the season.

The organization highlighted flexibility as a key factor, noting that volunteers can choose which regional events to support depending on availability.

Judging as part of industry engagement

Judges play a central role in assessing student work across design, engineering, and collaboration categories. According to STEM Racing UK, events bring together teachers, industry professionals, and representatives from across the STEM ecosystem.

The LinkedIn post positions judging as a way for volunteers to see student skills first-hand while contributing time and expertise to the competition structure.

STEM Racing UK has opened registrations for judges ahead of its 2025–26 UK regional finals. Volunteers are asked to register their details, indicate availability, and select preferred competition levels, ranging from primary (ages nine to eleven) through to secondary categories (ages eleven to nineteen).

Event locations span England, Wales, Scotland, and Jersey, with regional finals leading into national championships later in the academic year.

STEM Racing UK wrote on LinkedIn, “We’re always in need of passionate professionals and amazing alumni to join us as judges at our UK events.”
