Alps Education has launched a live MIS integration with Arbor Education, allowing schools to sync student and teaching data directly into the Alps Connect analytics platform.

Alps provides performance analysis and target-setting tools used by schools and colleges to track student progress. Arbor is one of the UK’s largest cloud-based management information systems, used by more than 11,500 schools and trusts to manage operational and student data.

The new integration connects Arbor MIS directly to Alps Connect, enabling cohorts, student lists, tutor groups, and teaching sets to update automatically in real time. The change removes the need for manual spreadsheet uploads and repeated data reconciliation between systems.

Real-time syncing between MIS and analytics

Under the integration, schools using Arbor can enable automatic syncing of key student and timetable data into Alps Connect. That data then feeds into Alps’ performance analysis tools, including minimum expected grade setting and value-added benchmarking.

Toby Ahern, Commercial Director at Alps, says: “We are excited to launch a powerful new upgrade to the Alps Connect Data experience. Together, Arbor and Alps are enabling teachers and leaders to spend less time on admin and more time driving better outcomes for learners. This new integration gives schools accurate, ready-to-use data without the workload. This is a significant step in our mission to help every student achieve their full potential.”

The integration is available immediately for existing Alps customers using Arbor, with implementation guidance published in the Alps Knowledge Base.

First of several planned MIS connections

Alps confirms that the Arbor link is the first in a series of MIS integrations, with further connections, including iSAMS, planned.

For schools, MIS integrations have become increasingly important as analytics platforms and management systems multiply. Direct syncing reduces duplication between operational systems and performance tools, though the value ultimately depends on how schools interpret and act on the analysis once data is integrated.

By linking directly with a widely used MIS platform, Alps positions its Connect platform more firmly within schools’ day-to-day data infrastructure rather than as a separate reporting layer.
