Genio adds AI-powered STEM capabilities to its Genio Notes learning platform to support complex learning
Genio says its app offers statistically significant improvements in learning outcomes by offering the ability to capture information with both audio recordings and visual elements. It says these reduce cognitive load and improve memory to increase knowledge retention.
"STEM students need tools that support the active engagement essential for mastering cumulative content, not shortcuts that bypass the learning process," explains Holly Donohue, Chief Product Officer at Genio.
"These enhanced STEM capabilities in Genio Notes ensure students can fully participate in class and build deep understanding of complex material, while our comprehensive platform supports them through every stage from note taking to effectively communicating what they’ve learned to others."
The new capabilities allow students to create fully formatted formulas and equations directly in their notes feeds. Graphs and diagrams can be captured from slides and worksheets and students can add additional handwritten notes to their feed, keeping all their study materials in one location.
Genio Notes is designed to work alongside its Genio Present tool, creating an integrated system that can be used from initial learning through to final communication of knowledge without any training required.
An independent study of more than 11,800 higher education students recently found that Genio’s tools can have a positive impact on learning with students using the tool demonstrating improvement in several key academic outcomes.
