E.ON’s New Energy Academy celebrates its first birthday with green skills workshop at Wembley High Technical College
E.ON has marked the first anniversary of its New Energy Academy, a free educational program aimed at 11-14 year-olds, with a skills workshop at Wembley High Technical College in London.

The New Energy Academy has supported teachers across the country with free curriculum-linked resources that aim to make careers in clean energy more accessible to children.
Schools have also taken part in challenges, such as designing sustainable cities, or pitching sustainable ideas.
E.ON welcomed footballer Fara Williams MBE to lead the workshop at the college, exploring what it means to be a trailblazer in sport, or sustainability, and elsewhere.
She says: “It was incredible to spend time with the winners of E.ON’s Trailblazing Heroes competition and to see how excited they are about working together, solving problems and thinking about their futures. The skills they’re building now – like communication, teamwork and adaptability – are exactly the same skills that helped me throughout my football career and will help them succeed in any career they choose.”
Nancy Blake, Head of Year at Wembley High Technical College, adds: “Having Fara at our school was such an inspiring experience. The visit not only brought the New Energy Academy resources to life but also showed the children how skills learned in the classroom link to real-life role models and future careers.”
