ClassDojo joins The Education Cooperative’s data privacy agreement, fast-tracking districtwide adoption
ClassDojo has joined The Education Cooperative’s Standardized Data Privacy Agreement, a nationally recognized, multi-state framework that streamlines the contracting process for school district leaders looking to use edtech tools.

The pre-approved agreement, which is active in 14 US states, gives school districts a quick pathway to launching ClassDojo's communication app, while protecting student data.
"District leaders face constant pressure to balance innovation with responsibility," explains Chad A. Stevens, Ph.D., Head of K–12 Engagement at ClassDojo. "This agreement gives them both – speed and simplicity in bringing ClassDojo to every school, and the assurance that student data is protected at the highest level. Our goal is to make it easier for districts to focus on what matters most: building connected, thriving school communities."
The Education Cooperative’s agreement builds on the National Data Privacy Agreement and enables districts to secure compliant agreements with vendors, using a shared legal model.
The deal means that ClassDojo can be rolled out districtwide across participating US states without any legal delays or negotiations.
"District leaders want to adopt tools that families and teachers love—without compromising on privacy," adds Stacy Hawthorne, Chief Academic Officer at Learn21, a TEC member, and CoSN Board Chair. "This agreement with ClassDojo shows what's possible when vendors prioritize privacy and proactively partner with the education community."
The news follows shortly after Class Dojo was chosen by eight US school districts to strengthen communication and family engagement across schools.
