Pearson develops wearable AI technology aiming to help users focus on their studies

Pearson has launched Revibe Wearable, an AI-powered wearable that aims to help students focus on their studies amid increasing distractions.

Developed by Pearson Clinical Assessment and powered by Samsung technology, Revibe uses AI-enabled reminders to keep users focused on tasks.

Revibe, which is available for purchase through a subscription model, tracks the wearer’s behaviour, fidgeting, work completion, and exercise, while providing timely reminders to stay on task and complete work.

This is Pearson’s first wearable launch, aiming to help students in the classroom “and beyond”.

The technology is hosted on the Samsung Galaxy Watch7, giving the appearance of an ordinary smartwatch. It provides silent vibrations and on-screen alerts that encourage users to check their attention and build skills over time.

AI-based sensors and algorithms learn each users’ unique patterns and collect data on their attention. This is used to create personalized reminders and offer insights into their behaviour.

"Pearson's mission is to help people realize the life they imagine through learning, and that means addressing the real-world obstacles they face," explains Clay Richey, Managing Director at Pearson Clinical Assessment. “Revibe embodies this mission. We're using our expertise in assessment and educational technology to build tools that foster confidence, empower independence, and give people opportunities to realize their full potential."

“I saw capable students struggle – not because they couldn’t learn, but because they couldn't focus in the classroom,” adds Rich Brancaccio, a former school psychologist and Senior Director for Pearson Clinical Assessment, who conceived the device. "I designed Revibe to help children in the moments where they need it most and in a way that doesn't single them out—a powerful and personal tool to help level the playing field for learners. Seeing this vision, now expanded for all ages, powered by Pearson’s scale and assessment expertise and Samsung’s innovative technology is incredibly rewarding.”
