A LinkedIn post from Omar Abbosh, Chief Executive Officer at Pearson, described a recent town hall meeting with employees in Hoboken.

Pearson is a global education company that provides digital learning tools, assessments, and content for students and professionals worldwide.

Abbosh said the session marked a shift in mindset, noting that discussions are now centered on the future and the company’s customers. He wrote, “We wrapped a fantastic town hall with our Pearson people in Hoboken yesterday—and I’m deeply energized by the conversations we had.”

He added, “A year ago, our conversations were largely inward-facing. Today, they are boldly focused on the future, on our customers, and on the world we’re helping to shape.”

Abbosh said the event included exchanges about how artificial intelligence is reshaping industries, from product development to learner support. He also referenced the idea of learning as a skill and discussed different ways of designing learning experiences.

He continued, “We talked about the seismic changes AI is driving across industries—from how we build products to how we support learners and workers. We explored the power of learning as a skill, not just a means to an end. And we challenged ourselves to think differently about how we bring learning experiences to life in ways that are both rigorous 𝘢𝘯𝘥 cool.”

The post concluded, “To the team in Hoboken—thank you for your time, your candor, and your passion. You’re helping shape the future of learning, and I’m proud to be on this journey with you!”
