Oak Academy launches cooking and nutrition classes in partnership with the British Nutrition Foundation

CPD

Oak Academy, a UK government-backed provider of online curriculum resources, has launched a Cooking and Nutrition Curriculum for Key Stages 1, 2 and 3.

To support the launch, Oak Academy is hosting ten CPD sessions to help teachers start using the new materials quickly.

Running between September 2025 and February 2026, the sessions cover the new curriculum and how it can be brought to life. Teachers can attend as many sessions as they like, choosing those most relevant to their work.

Oak Academy is also offering its interactive CPD tool to help teachers plan their CPD. The free course includes curriculum plans, slides, recipes, worksheets, videos, teacher guidance, and quizzes. The partnership is also offering a pupil platform to support student homework and revision.

In a post on LinkedIn celebrating the course’s launch, the British Nutrition Foundation said: “We’re delighted to have partnered with Oak National Academy on this exciting project. Over the past 18 months, our education team has worked hard to develop a curriculum that not only supports teachers with high-quality resources, but also helps pupils gain essential cooking and nutrition skills for life.”

The news follows shortly after Oak National Academy announced via LinkedIn that it is making its content available to EdTech developers through a free application programming interface (API).

The Oak Curriculum API allows access to curriculum-aligned resources for Key Stages 1 to 4 across a range of subjects. The initiative is licensed under the Open Government License, enabling developers, from startups to established learning platforms, to integrate Oak’s materials into their products at no cost.
