Most Canadian workers using AI in the workplace are doing so without proper training, Growclass survey finds

Growclass surveyed 1,012 Canadians online about their use of AI and found that only 33 percent are confident about using AI tools effectively at work.
To help close the skills gap, Growclass has launched a new AI Marketing and Strategy Certification course. The six week program aims to give professionals the skills and confidence to use AI responsibly at work. Participants will gain hands-on experience using AI tools that support with their brand and values, and leave with a 3 roadmap for integration
The survey also found that more than a quarter of Canadians (26 percent) are concerned that AI could replace their job role within the next five years.
Most were interested in training in AI, with 68 percent stating they would be interested in this if their employer offered it.
HR professionals were the most likely to be using AI, with 81 percent admitting to using it at work, although only these employees were most likely to have received training on the topic. Digital technology professionals were found to be the most confidence at using AI, with followed by non-profit professionals.
“AI is already central to how we work, but without proper training, it risks leaving people behind, particularly for women and underrepresented communities,” comments Sarah Stockdale, CEO and Founder at Growclass. “Our program is designed to close that gap by giving people the practical skills, confidence and value alignment they need to use AI intentionally, not fear it.”
