Mathnasium turns to Amazon Business to manage supply procurement across U.S. tutoring centers

Education franchise selects Amazon’s B2B platform to streamline purchasing of materials for students and support staff.

Mathnasium Tutoring has selected Amazon Business as its purchasing platform, aiming to simplify the procurement of essential supplies across its network of more than 1,000 locations in the United States.

Amazon Business provides centralized access to a wide range of business-focused purchasing tools, including multi-user accounts, invoicing features, tax exemption support, and fast delivery. The platform allows organizations to track spending, automate approval workflows, and manage recurring orders.

Items purchased through the service will include basic supplies such as pencils, notepads, and printer toner, as well as incentive items used in student reward cabinets.

Logistics focus supports operational efficiency

The move is part of Mathnasium’s efforts to reduce time spent on center-level administration. The company said the change enables more focus on student-facing work.

“At Mathnasium, we know that confidence in the classroom starts with support behind the scenes. That’s why we rely on Amazon Business for our business purchasing needs—so we can spend less time managing supplies and more time empowering students,” says Aimee Mack, regional vice president for new center openings at Mathnasium.

Amazon Business reported $35 billion in annualized gross sales in 2023. Its education users include school systems and institutions requiring access to distributed inventory and quick delivery, supported by a network of suppliers and logistics tools.

Purchasing integration and oversight

The purchasing system includes features designed for education and other sectors with decentralized operations. These include Guided Buying, which helps organizations align purchases with internal policies, and Business Prime, which provides access to analytics and shipping options.

“The equation is simple: trusted selection plus fast delivery equals more time for students. By using Amazon Business, Mathnasium is subtracting procurement headaches and replacing them with a streamlined, scalable approach. It’s a formula that adds up for educators, and one we’re proud to stand behind,” adds Brenda Spoonemore, vice president at Amazon Business.
