Workforce Edge and Best Buy work together to offer education benefits to thousands of employees

Education benefits platform Workforce Edge has announced a new partnership with electronics retailer Best Buy. The new partnership will see thousands of Best Buy employees offered education benefits through a centralized portal.

Developed by Strategic Education Inc, Workforce Edge is designed to streamline education benefits and workflow management using intelligent automation, real-time insights and personalized support.

Best Buy can now scale and streamline its education benefits to serve thousands of employees using a single portal.

All full- and part-time employees at Best Buy were given access to degree programs in partnership with Strayer University’s Degrees@Work program in February 2025. The scheme offers employees a chance to take coursework or earn a certificate, associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree from Strayer University.

“Best Buy is proud to work alongside Strayer University to expand our Degrees@Work program and enhance how our employees can engage with and manage their education benefits through the Workforce Edge platform,” explains Charlie Montreuil, Senior Vice President of HR Rewards at Best Buy.

“Best Buy is taking a bold approach to employee education by enabling all workers to expand their professional skills and pursue their educational goals. Workforce Edge will help ensure they can manage and measure the effectiveness of this program at this scale,” adds Karl McDonnell, CEO at Strategic Education, Inc. “We are excited to partner with Best Buy on this groundbreaking initiative to support its employees in pursuit of economic mobility.”
