Grouper and Mutara launch AI-powered solution to streamline college admissions and enrollment processes

AI and document processing platform Grooper and Mutara Inc, a provider of admissions and enrollment solutions, have announced a new partnership helping colleges and universities modernize their admissions processes.

The new solution uses AI to automate how student information is collected, verified, and processed. The companies say this reduces manual work and improves data accuracy while uncomplicating the student experience.

Grooper uses AI and machine learning to classify, verify and extract data from student-submitted documents while Mutara provides the student-facing interface and manages institutional compliance rules, student intake, and exception workflows.

The companies claim the new system reduces student effort by up to 90 percent, reduces processing efforts by 60-80 percent and reduces fraudulent enrollments by more than 80 percent.

The system also extracts data from document directly, minimizing manual entry and improving accuracy in student information systems by up to 90 percent. Grooper’s document search capabilities also make it easy to prove compliance with policies on financial aid.

"Institutions are looking for new ways to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance the student experience," comments Dan Rotelli, CEO at BIS, creator of Grooper. "Our partnership with Mutara directly addresses these challenges by automating manual processes, improving data quality, and ensuring greater compliance."

"This is more than just automation - it's a smarter way to manage the entire student intake process," adds Larry Grey, CEO at Mutara, Inc. "By integrating Grooper's document intelligence with our student intake and compliance platform, we're giving institutions the tools they need to focus on students, not paperwork."

The news comes shortly after DreamCollege.ai launched a virtual college counseling platform aimed at addressing the gap in accessible admissions support for high school students across the U.S.
