DreamCollege.ai launches AI platform to guide students through the college admissions process
The new tool uses Agentic AI to deliver step-by-step support with essays, college matching, and application strategy

DreamCollege.ai has launched a virtual college counseling platform aimed at addressing the gap in accessible admissions support for high school students across the United States.
The product was unveiled at the 2025 ASU+GSV Summit and is designed to automate key parts of the application journey, including essay review, extracurricular planning, and school selection.
Founded by Julia Liang, a Cornell MBA and former executive at Amazon and McKinsey, DreamCollege.ai positions itself as an alternative to private college counselors. The platform is built around Agentic AI, a multi-agent system that provides personalized guidance based on a student’s academic strengths and long-term goals.
Agentic AI designed to replicate key functions of a counselor
The platform offers more than a dozen interactive tools that work in tandem to simulate the experience of working with a traditional college counselor. Students receive help creating timelines, writing application essays, selecting majors, and identifying best-fit institutions.
Liang explains that the technology was built to meet the needs of students who often lack access to one-on-one advising due to resource limitations in public schools.
“Our mission is to empower every student to achieve their college dream — with the power of AI,” says Julia Liang, founder and chief executive officer at DreamCollege.ai. “Most U.S. public schools have a student-to-counselor ratio over 400:1. Meanwhile, only ten percent of families can afford private admissions counselors, which cost between $4,000 and $20,000. DreamCollege.ai changes that by making elite guidance affordable and accessible to all.”
