EdShed previews new teacher hub offering more detailed and clearer, actionable pupil insights

EdShed, the creator of popular learning platforms Phonics Shed, Spelling Shed and MathShed, is previewing a new version of its teacher hub.

Starting with Spelling Shed, the new hub gives more detailed data as well as actionable insight into pupil progress. Teachers can see assignments, leagues, challenges and Hive games on one screen, while simplified navigation offers more accessible resources to support planning and consistency across year groups.

Teachers can switch between four dedicated views - overview, competency tracker, history and mastery zone - to monitor progress. A color-coded system highlights strengths and gaps and interactive charts offer teachers a chance to focus on specific needs, allowing them to tailor support more effectively.

“Our goal is to give teachers the information they need, in a format that’s instantly useful. By simplifying data and making it more meaningful, we’re helping teachers quickly identify where pupils need support, allowing them to spend more time on high-impact teaching,” explains Martin Saunders, Co-founder and CEO at EdShed.

The update is based on early feedback from Spelling Shed Showcase Schools and is the first step in a phased rollout that will eventually include QuizShed, MathShed, Literacy Shed and Phonics Shed as well.

Earlier this year, EdShed launched a new spelling game called Bee Sieged. The game adapts to each player’s spelling ability and is fully integrated into Spelling Shed’s Mastery Zone, allowing words to be automatically added to each pupil’s level.
