Carlsberg Group reports first cohort of 26 graduates from Multiverse powered data apprenticeship programme

A Carlsberg Group data apprenticeship programme has produced its first cohort of 26 graduates.

In a LinkedIn post, Shoba Sairam, VP Data Analytics at Carlsberg Group, said: “Despite a year filled with significant organisational changes and disruptions, this group has exemplified resilience and unwavering commitment to continuous learning and upskilling. This achievement also wouldn't have been possible without the fantastic support of their line managers.”

Launched in partnership with Multiverse last March, the programme aims to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in making data driven decisions across various functions.

Sairam said: “From R&D to marketing, legal, HR, commercial, and IT, a diverse cohort of curious learners eagerly embraced the opportunity to expand their skills. Their dedication and hard work, involving blood, sweat, and tears, have been commendable. At the graduation ceremony, it was enlightening to witness the cohort's case studies showcasing the practical application of their newfound skills. From design led thinking to empathetic stakeholder engagement, and from storytelling with data to accelerating insights through visualisation, the impact of their learning journey was evident in their daily work lives.”

She added: “Special thanks to Bruce Dallas (VP, Commercial Growth) for inspiring the cohort on the graduation day with Mark Cuban's ethos of growth through curiosity and continuous learning. Ben Tootell (Commercial Supply Chain Director at Carlsberg Britvic) emphasised how data driven insights cut through noise and are a differentiator for accelerating decisions.”

”Acknowledgments go to Multivers’s Mike Weston for his exceptional coaching and to the individuals who shared their case studies, including Jonathan Ansell, Gareth Price, Barry Cross, and Sophie Bogusz. Additionally, our heartfelt gratitude extends to our HR partners - Jamie Lamb, Helen Moody, and Sam Curson - for their unwavering support throughout this transformative journey.”

“With such enthusiastic learners and supportive leaders, achieving transformations at scale remains within reach. Congratulations to the team, and we eagerly anticipate celebrating the success stories of our remaining Level 3, 4, and 5 apprentices.”

AI

Multiverse, which is fronted by Euan Blair (son of former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair), recently announced a commitment to train 15,000 new AI apprentices over the next two years. The initiative supports the UK government's AI Opportunities Action Plan.

The apprenticeships will be created and delivered in partnership with employers across the country, including Skanska, Visa, Capita and Legal & General.

Multiverse’s AI learner base spans geographic locations. More than 2,200 AI apprentices are currently enrolled through over 200 employers.

Science and Technology Secretary, Peter Kyle, said: "Cutting-edge technologies like AI are transforming the way our economy works, so it is vital that British people have the right skills to make the most of the new opportunities tech presents. These efforts are central to the ambitions for jobs and growth, at the heart of our Plan for Change. Multiverse's commitment to thousands of AI apprenticeships will help us achieve just that, backing people right across our country to develop the skills they need to for a career in AI, no matter where they live.”
