BoT launches screen-free GPS device BoT Talk, that offers parents and children an alternative to smartphones
BoT US Inc, a subsidiary of Bsize Inc, has launched BoT Talk - a screen-free GPS tracking device aimed at parents looking to provide a screen-free way of staying connected with their children.
BoT US Inc says 66 percent of US parents are looking to delay their child’s use of a smartphone until they reach high school and 26 US states are currently enacting phone-free school policies. A survey conducted by The Harris Poll in 2025 found that 73 percent of families support delaying their child’s use of social media until at least age 16.
BoT Talk offers a way to support this, while also allowing parents to remain in touch with their children. It offers GPS location tracking and instant voice connection, without giving children any apps or screens.
"Mimamori represents a mindful balance," explains Keita Yagi, CEO of Bsize Inc. and developer of BoT Talk. "It's about being available without intrusion, providing security without limiting curiosity."
After working with 43 US BoT Talk users in the US, the company said most were using the devices for location awareness, commuting, and neighborhood play. One parent shared: "We're trying to delay the introduction of any kind of phone for as long as possible. The BoT is a great solution."
BoT US will launch a series on Mimamori - a Japanese parenting philosophy that focuses on child independence with gentle connection - sharing insights with US families.
Earlier this year, a new ‘healthy smartphone’ launched in the UK, aimed at parents concerned about their child’s screentime and access to the internet. Created by Texas-based company Techless, SAGE smartphones are designed to support children at the start of their digital lives.
