University of Wolverhampton partners with the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine to launch fast-track medical course
The University of Wolverhampton has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC), creating a new fast-track route to becoming a qualified doctor.
The new six-year course starts with a two-year accredited Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree at the University of Wolverhampton, followed by direct entry to the second semester of AUC’s four-year Doctor of Medicine program.
Eligible students will benefit from clinical training opportunities in the UK, USA, and elsewhere, before joining the US National Resident Program or the UK’s General Medical Council Foundation Year training pathways.
The first cohorts are expected to start the new course in 2026, with the universities hoping to attract high-achieving students from the UAE, Morocco, India and the UK.
“This strategic partnership reflects our commitment to expanding global opportunities for our students and reinforces our social mobility objectives,” says Professor Ebrahim Adia, Vice Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton. “By co-designing a pathway that integrates academic excellence with international clinical experience, we are preparing future doctors to meet the demands of a global healthcare landscape.”
"We are proud to collaborate with the University of Wolverhampton on this unique pathway, designed to help students achieve their dreams of becoming physicians,” adds Dr. Mark Rosenberg, Dean of the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. “By combining a high-quality, accelerated academic program with a shared commitment to a supportive and compassionate learning environment, we are creating the conditions for student success. Our ultimate goal is to educate future physicians who will deliver exceptional, empathetic care and make a lasting impact on the communities they serve."
