University of Oxford Faculty of Law announces new partnership with 2U to deliver online education programs
The University of Oxford Faculty of Law has announced a new partnership with online learning provider 2U to launch online programs on edX.
The Faculty of Law has been offering its Professional Development Program portfolio since 2024. The new partnership marks the first time the training has been made available online as it aims to reach a global audience of legal and business professionals.
The first program will be ‘Oxford Legal and Governance Foundations for Board Directors Program’, which is due to launch in early 2026, led by Professor John Armour, Dean of the Faculty of Law. It will cover the critical governance and legal expertise needed by Directors.
"The Faculty of Law has a responsibility to share Oxford's world-leading legal research and expertise beyond our campus," comments Professor Armour. "Our partnership with 2U allows us to fulfil that mission by making our professional development programmes accessible to legal and business leaders around the world who are navigating increasingly complex governance challenges."
2U already has existing partnerships with the Blavatnik School of Government and Saïd Business School. The new deal with the University of Oxford gives it more than 40 programs available on learning platform edX.
"Our Professional Development Programme was designed to apply cutting-edge research from across the Faculty to the practical challenges facing legal professionals today," adds Michael Leavey, Professional Development Programme Director at Oxford Faculty of Law.
"Moving online with 2U enables us to extend this research-informed approach to a much wider community of practitioners who can benefit from Oxford's distinctive combination of academic rigour and real-world application."
