Edu Intelligence and Welbee have joined Faria Education Group, bringing two school-focused platforms covering connected data analysis and staff wellbeing into the group.

Edu Intelligence is designed for school, trust and group leaders who hold information across multiple systems and documents. The platform connects sources such as management information systems, attendance, behavior, safeguarding, attainment, staff and student feedback, policies and strategic plans, then uses AI to let leaders question that information in everyday language.

Welbee predates the newer platform. Founder and CEO Mark Solomons began developing the staff wellbeing product seven years ago after working with 16 schools around Belfast, supported by Ballyclare High School, which had spent six years measuring and improving staff wellbeing.

The platform was initially built around staff surveys and recommended actions for schools. Student and parent voice were later added, while the wider challenge of bringing different types of school information together led to the creation of Edu Intelligence.

Solomons said on LinkedIn that the business had reached a point where surveys represented only one part of the data schools needed to understand.

“As we added student and parent voice and advanced AI, it was clear surveys were just one data source and Edu Intelligence was born,” he wrote.

Working with Tim Handley, a former headteacher and Google-recognized AI practitioner, the team developed Edu Intelligence as a way for schools to view data and documents together, ask questions in plain language and generate evidence-based findings without replacing their existing systems.

Connecting fragmented school data

The central proposition behind Edu Intelligence is that schools already hold large amounts of information, but it is often split across separate systems.

Attendance may sit in one platform, behavior in another, with safeguarding, inclusion, attainment and staff experience stored elsewhere. Edu Intelligence is designed to connect those sources rather than requiring schools to build a new reporting environment around them.

According to the company, its agentic AI can identify patterns across the connected information, answer questions posed in natural language and recommend potential next actions.

It also claims the platform can reduce analysis and planning time by more than 90%. That figure comes from Edu Intelligence itself and no independent evidence for the claim was included in the announcement.

Welbee remains focused more specifically on staff experience and workplace wellbeing. It uses anonymous feedback, benchmarking, recommended actions and monitoring to help schools and education groups identify areas requiring attention.

Solomons’ experience includes more than two decades working in education leadership and governance, including chairing a 13-school trust. He has positioned Edu Intelligence around the problem of senior leaders making decisions when evidence is fragmented across different systems.

Faria expected to extend international reach

The businesses say joining Faria Education Group will allow Edu Intelligence to reach more schools and school groups internationally while continuing to support existing customers.

“In Faria, we've found a group that shares our values, strengthens our work, and will let us do far more for many more school groups and schools around the world,” Solomons wrote on LinkedIn.

Edu Intelligence currently describes its market as schools, trusts and education groups across the UK and GCC, while Welbee has worked with districts, multi-academy trusts and schools across different phases and sectors.

For now, Edu Intelligence and Welbee are operating as part of Faria Education Group, with Solomons saying the teams plan to continue developing the products together.
