RM Technology extends partnership with South Lanarkshire Council, managing its digital transformation strategy

RM Technology, a British provider of edtech products and services, has extended its long-term partnership with South Lanarkshire Council for another five years.

RM Technology will provide a fully-managed service for 125 primary schools, 17 secondary schools, and seven additional support needs schools in the area, ensuring they all have reliable, cost-effective, and future-proof technology.

The new agreement will also see RM Technology driving the Council’s digital transformation strategy, including supporting its ongoing transition to a serverless cloud environment. The new environment will allow schools to handle changing demands, increased pupil numbers, and new digital learning tools without any disruption to service.

“This contract extension is testament to the strong partnership we have built with South Lanarkshire Council over the last two decades,” says Douglas Hutton, Account Director and Head of Territory at RM Technology.

“Our team on the ground is dedicated to ensuring the technology in every school ‘just works’ so that teachers and students can focus on what’s most important – learning. We’re keen to continue supporting the council’s forward-thinking digital strategy, including the ongoing transition of schools to a serverless cloud environment.”

Stewart Nicolson, Head of Education at South Lanarkshire Council, adds: “Our partnership with RM Technology is a critical part of our ongoing digital strategy. This new contract provides us with the stability and security we need to continue modernising our schools.

“By having a fully managed network, we can empower our school leaders and staff to innovate and deliver a high-quality curriculum, knowing that the underlying technology infrastructure is robust, reliable, and entirely taken care of.”
