Hexaware and upGrad open Agentic AI Academy as enterprises shift toward intelligent systems

Hexaware Technologies has partnered with upGrad Enterprise to launch the Agentic AI Academy, a training initiative aimed at equipping its global workforce with the skills needed to work with emerging Agentic AI systems.

Hexaware Technologies, a global IT services and business process company, has announced the launch of its Agentic AI Academy in collaboration with upGrad Enterprise, the corporate skilling division of education provider upGrad.

The initiative is designed to prepare Hexaware’s workforce for the adoption of Agentic systems, a type of artificial intelligence that uses autonomous agents to plan, act, and adapt in real time.

The new academy builds on two years of investment in generative AI skilling at Hexaware. The company reports that 95 percent of its employees have completed training in generative AI fundamentals and advanced concepts. The latest phase will focus on developing specialist skills for agentic technology, which is expected to reshape enterprise workflows.

Role-specific training approach

Training at the Agentic AI Academy is structured around three distinct categories, tailored to developers, teams, and operations leaders. Courses have been co-designed with upGrad Enterprise to align with Hexaware’s workforce and business requirements, integrating content, labs, and certification through upGrad’s digital learning platform.

Vinod Chandran, Chief Operating Officer at Hexaware, says, “Agentic technologies are becoming fundamental to how enterprises operate. Agentic Academy ensures our people are equipped not only to use these systems but to lead engagements built around them.”

Satyajith Mundakkal, Chief Technology Officer at Hexaware, adds, “We’re moving from automation to intelligent orchestration, where agents collaborate, decide, and deliver outcomes. This shift is redefining roles and creating demand for Agentic expertise. Our goal is to equip talent to lead real-world Agentic assignments with confidence and capability.”

Industry impact and workforce transformation

Early participants in the program have already joined live assignments involving agentic systems, and further tracks are being developed to scale adoption across Hexaware’s delivery and engineering teams.

Satyendu Mohanty, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Talent Management at Hexaware, comments, “For such a large-scale delivery transformation, enabling a hybrid workforce of humans and agents to deliver shared outcomes, rapid talent transformation is imperative. Agentic Academy enables a common language, shared fluency, and real capability across roles. That’s what turns a technology trend into a sustained workforce advantage.”

Srikanth Iyengar, Chief Executive Officer of upGrad Enterprise, adds, “As Agentic systems reshape enterprise operations, the real differentiator will be how quickly organizations can translate that shift into customer impact. At upGrad Enterprise, our experience in workforce transformation and learning design allows us to build agile, real-world solutions at scale. This program is a reflection of that approach—practical, outcome-driven, and built for deployment from day one.”
