Cookie Monster’s Cookie Factory launches on Nex Playground as final Sesame Workshop title
Motion-based puzzle game joins Nex's subscription platform, designed to support physical and cognitive development in early learners.
Nex has released Cookie Monster’s Cookie Factory, the fourth and final title in its collaboration with Sesame Workshop. The game is now available exclusively on Nex Playground through the platform’s Play Pass subscription.
Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind Sesame Street, partnered with Nex to create motion-based educational games for early learners. Previous titles include Elmo Says, Elmo & Abby’s Magical Letter Hunt, and Move & Groove with Grover. Each game is designed to support different areas of child development, including gross motor skills, early literacy, and communication.
Motion-based gameplay for early learners
In Cookie Monster’s Cookie Factory, players use body movements to operate virtual factory tools such as claws, conveyor belts, springs, sliders, and fans. These are used to move cookies from a source pipe to labeled destination boxes. The game incorporates a range of physical actions, including jumping, squatting, moving arms, and tilting shoulders.
The title supports up to four players and is recommended for children aged four and up. Gameplay focuses on sorting, coordination, and collaboration across 30 levels. Each level awards up to four stars, though only one star is required to progress.
Tina Moglia, Supervising Producer of Digital Production at Sesame Workshop, says, “From Elmo to Grover to Cookie Monster, these games with Nex combine joyful movement with purposeful learning. Cookie Monster’s Cookie Factory is a sweet finale that shows how educational play can be just as fun and active as it is meaningful.”
Access and availability
The game is available to Nex Playground users who subscribe to the Play Pass, which unlocks the full game library. The Nex Playground system can be purchased on Amazon and through online and selected in-store retailers, including Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.
Nex designs technology to encourage full-body play experiences for children and families. Its product line includes over 40 interactive titles spanning educational games, fitness content, and Nex Originals. The company says its platform is built for year-round, active use and is certified kidSAFE+ COPPA compliant.
Dr. Emily Greenwald, Chief Pediatric Advisor at Nex Playground, says, “From the beginning, our collaboration with Sesame Workshop has centered around one goal: to support whole-child development through joyful, active learning experiences. Across all four titles, we’ve intentionally focused on early childhood skills–gross motor, early literacy, communication, and now, with Cookie Monster’s Cookie Factory, puzzle-solving. This final game is a perfect example of how movement-based learning can spark cognitive growth and giggles at the same time.”
