Accenture names Denise Zheng to lead AI and data practice for US products group

Denise Zheng took to LinkedIn to confirm her transition into a new AI and data role spanning Accenture’s largest commercial market.

Accenture has appointed Denise Zheng as AI and Data Lead for its US Products Client Group, according to a LinkedIn post in which she confirmed her move into the role.

Zheng took to LinkedIn to announce the transition, stating that she is now responsible for leading Accenture’s AI and data practice across its US products market.

The remit spans multiple industries, including life sciences, consumer goods, retail, travel, industrials, automotive, manufacturing, and aerospace and defense.

Accenture is a global professional services firm providing consulting, technology, and operations services to commercial and public sector clients.

The company also maintains a significant presence in education and EdTech, working with universities, education providers, and learning technology companies on digital transformation, data platforms, workforce skills, and the application of AI across education systems.

Move follows leadership role in federal AI practice

Prior to the transition, Zheng led Accenture’s AI and Data practice at Accenture Federal Services, where her work focused on applying AI and data capabilities to government and national priority programs. In her LinkedIn post, she reflected on that period as a distinct phase of her career, writing, “After an incredible chapter building and scaling the AI & Data practice AFS, I’m deeply grateful for the partnerships, teams, and mission-driven work that made that journey so meaningful.”

She also referenced the focus of the federal work, noting its alignment with national objectives rather than commercial delivery, adding, “I’m especially proud of what we built together at the intersection of AI, data, and national priorities.”

Commercial role spans sectors tied to skills and workforce transformation

Zheng positioned the new role as a shift toward supporting commercial clients in deploying AI across complex value chains. Several of the sectors referenced, including manufacturing, life sciences, and retail, closely to workforce development, reskilling, and the use of digital learning technologies, areas where Accenture has increasingly applied AI and data tools.

In the post, she highlighted research and development, manufacturing, supply chain, customer experience, and operations as priority domains for AI adoption at scale, saying, “In this next chapter, I’m excited to help our commercial clients harness AI at scale—driving growth, resilience, and transformation across global value chains.”

Zheng also used the LinkedIn post to confirm leadership continuity within Accenture Federal Services following her move into the commercial role. “I’m also thrilled that Garrett Berntsen will be stepping into leadership for AI & Data at AFS so the practice is in excellent hands,” she added.
