Remote assessment platform Invigilator raises $11 million in equity funding to support its US expansion

Invigilator, a remote assessment platform, has announced it has raised $11 million in international equity funding to accelerate its US expansion.

Led by investors Kaltroco, the funding will allow Invigilator to establish US operations and expand its partnerships with universities, awarding institutions, and professional bodies.

Invigilator is currently used by more than 100 organizations and has processed more than 6 million results. The platform uses live AI monitoring, AI assistance detection, ID verification, authentication, and anti-plagiarism tools. It uses secure, data-light architecture to protect assessment integrity while remaining accessible and can be accessed on entry-level smartphones as well as PCs.

Yahoo finance estimates the online exam proctoring market will reach $2.1 billion by 2030, up from $941 million in 2024.

Nicholas Riemer, Co-founder and CEO of Invigilator, says: “This investment is a milestone for our team and our mission. It enables us to accelerate AI development while keeping our solution inclusive and data light, helping institutions protect assessment integrity at scale. We’re expanding our U.S. operations to work closely with universities, awarding organisations and professional bodies, bringing live AI monitoring, AI assistance detection and secure, easy to deploy assessment workflows to educators and learners nationwide.”

Cornou Rykaart, CFO and Deal Lead at Kaltroco, adds: “Invigilator fits our investment thesis perfectly; sound business model, attractive growth opportunities, an exceptional team with a real passion for the mission and a disruptive technology that drives positive impact in a key sector. Their proprietary platform makes quality education more accessible and inclusive while freeing customers from physical infrastructure restrictions. We are excited to partner with the Invigilator team and support them in their U.S. growth ambitions.”
