Pearson expands AI-powered Study Prep tool to 1.5 million higher education students in Canada
Pearson has made its AI-powered Study Prep tool available to more than 1.5 million higher education students in Canada.
The launch is part of Study Prep’s 2025 expansion, aiming to provide personalized learning and on-demand academic support across more than 25 subjects.
Higher education students in Canada will be able to access Study Prep’s AI-powered tools, aiming to create a future-ready workforce.
Study Prep offers bite-sized video explanations and practice problems as well as assistance from human tutors and AI-powered tools. It is currently available in sciences, math, psychology, business, social sciences and other topics.
Students will be able to engage directly with video content, clicking the “ask a question” button to pause a video and receive answers from an embedded AI chatbot.
The AI tutor offers scaffolding step-by-step guidance to manage challenging concepts, without disrupting the flow of learning.
"In today's increasingly AI-driven world, students need learning tools that not only help them master course content but enable them to learn better and think deeper, so they are prepared to meet workforce needs," explains Jessica Biga-Wadstein, Country Head at Pearson Canada.
"By bringing Study Prep to Canada, we're innovating to support instructors with AI-powered resources that will help students succeed."
"I find the feature allowing you to upload your syllabus really beneficial because as someone who has a lot of learning objectives and topics outlined weekly on my syllabus, Study Prep helps me create a customized study plan that I can follow along on as a supplement for my lectures. It's like having a private tutor that helps me organize my studies," adds Maria Beltran, Student Ambassador at Pearson and a student at Toronto Metropolitan University.
