Alex Sarlin joins ASU+GSV Summit in newly created global EdTech role

EdTech Insiders founder Alex Sarlin has taken to LinkedIn to confirm a new senior role with the ASU+GSV Summit, while outlining plans for the future of his media platform.

Alex Sarlin, Founder and CEO at EdTech Insiders, announced on LinkedIn that he had joined the ASU+GSV Summit as Global EdTech Lead.

The ASU+GSV Summit is an international conference focused on education and workforce learning, bringing together education providers, technology companies, investors, and policymakers from early learning through adult and workforce education. Launched in 2010 through a collaboration between Arizona State University and Global Silicon Valley, the Summit has positioned itself as a key convening point for education technology and skills-focused innovation.

Sarlin wrote, “Big news: I'm thrilled to announce that I'm joining ASU+GSV Summit as Global EdTech Lead!”

In the post, Sarlin said he would be supporting the team behind the Summit as it continues to expand its global reach and programming across education and workforce learning.

Sarlin explained, “I'll be supporting the team behind what has become the most impactful EdTech conference in the world—a gathering that brings together the innovators, investors, and educators shaping the future of learning, all the way from ‘Pre-K to Gray.’”

He also used the post to acknowledge members of the leadership team responsible for delivering the event: “Huge thanks to the incredible GSV team: Deborah Quazzo, Tiffany Taylor, Michael Cohn, Michael T. Moe, Francis Rosenberg, Claire Zau, Lucy Baldwin and all the other unbelievable pros that make the Summit happen.”

Background and ongoing work in EdTech

Alongside the announcement, Sarlin shared further context around his ongoing work in the sector. He has more than 15 years of experience across education technology, product development, and learning design, and currently works as a senior advisor at Cambiar Education, where he supports and invests in early-stage EdTech companies.

Sarlin is also the founder of EdTech Insiders, a podcast, newsletter, and consultancy focused on global EdTech trends, investment activity, and market analysis. In the LinkedIn post, he confirmed that the platform would continue publishing in the near term.

Sarlin noted, “EdTech Insiders will continue to publish through the spring, when we have exciting news about relaunching GSV's Digital Media platform.”

He also confirmed continuity for the EdTech Insiders community and related projects: “Meanwhile, Ben Kornell will continue to support the EdTech Insiders community and projects.”

Sarlin closed the post by pointing ahead to the next Summit: “Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Summit!”
