ParentSquare helps school districts prepare for and respond to emergencies with new communications guide

ParentSquare, a family engagement platform, has created a new communications guide designed to help K-12 district and school leaders better prepare for a crisis.

The Crisis Communications Guide was developed with insight from superintendents, communications directors, and school safety leaders. It explains how districts can create communication plans in advance of any incident, allowing them to maintain consistency in any incident that occurs.

The guide also includes a set of prepared crisis communication message templates that can be easily adapted to common scenarios.

"District teams juggle so much during a crisis," says Anupama Vaid, President and Founder of ParentSquare. "They want to keep families informed without adding more stress or uncertainty. This guide gives them a clear roadmap, along with tools that help ensure every family receives important information when it matters most."

The guide also covers how ParentSquare can be used to deliver consistent, multi-channel updates to families during urgent situations.

It also includes guidance to support recovery after an incident including follow-up communications, counseling information, and staff debriefs.
