Institut auf dem Rosenberg announces it will be the first international school to host during the World Economic Forum 2026

Institut auf dem Rosenberg has announced it will host an independent House during the World Economic Forum in 2026, becoming the first international school to do so.

Students will join global decision makers, technologists, scientists, designers and cultural leaders for four days of roundtable discussions, workshops and salons in January 2026.

Called Rosenberg House, the event has been developed with partners including MIT, UC Berkeley, Smithsonian Science Education Center, weTHINK, Vitra and the Tim Bergling Foundation. It will operate independently from the World Economic Forum, without its endorsement.

The school says it will use the event to champion the voice of young people and student-led solutions on sustainability, climate resilience, and ethical technology.

“This isn’t a simulation, it’s a real-world initiative with real-world consequences,” comments Bernhard Gademann, President of Institut auf dem Rosenberg. “It goes far beyond classroom exercises or model summits. The world is gathering to make decisions that will affect the next generation – young people deserve a seat at the table. Today’s students will shape solutions to challenges we cannot yet fully imagine. At Davos, we aim to demonstrate that education must not simply teach knowledge, it must create tomorrow.”

Rosenberg will present its flagship programs including:

  • Future Skills & the Humanix Qualification - a qualification on empathy, creativity, ethical reasoning, and intelligent machine literacy.

  • Human-Centered AI Governance - developed collaboratively with students, aiming to work with emerging technologies responsibly and ethically.

  • Youth-led Climate Solutions - including the climate garden, and the space habitat.
