INSEAD rolls out ChatGPT Edu across institution in new OpenAI partnership

Students, faculty and staff will receive access as the business school develops plans spanning AI-powered case studies, personalized learning, research and agentic workflows

INSEAD is making ChatGPT Edu available to students, faculty and staff through a campus-wide partnership with OpenAI

INSEAD has entered a campus-wide partnership with OpenAI to provide ChatGPT Edu to students, faculty and staff across the international business school.

The agreement extends the use of generative AI across teaching, research and institutional work, with INSEAD developing a wider roadmap for how the technology will be used rather than limiting access to individual courses or departments.

According to OpenAI, that roadmap includes faculty and student enablement, research, AI-powered case studies, personalized learning and agentic workflows, alongside plans to measure learning outcomes.

The partnership follows recent engagement between OpenAI and INSEAD in Singapore and discussions with Dean Francisco Veloso and the institution’s leadership team.

Writing on LinkedIn, ChatGPT for Education framed business schools as a link between AI adoption and workforce preparation, stating: “Business schools are an important bridge between AI, learning and the world of work.”

From AI access to institutional adoption

ChatGPT Edu is OpenAI’s offering for universities, designed to provide institutions with access to ChatGPT across their academic communities.

For INSEAD, the current plans extend beyond providing accounts. OpenAI said the institution is examining how AI can be incorporated into research, case-based teaching, individualized learning and workflows that use AI agents to carry out multi-step tasks.

The focus on business education also puts workplace applications directly into the picture. INSEAD teaches degree students and executives across locations in France, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and San Francisco, with programs spanning management, finance, leadership and other areas of business education.

OpenAI’s LinkedIn post said the institution’s approach could influence how students and executives use AI beyond the classroom, noting opportunities around “AI, economic growth, employment, and the future of work.”

INSEAD plans measurable learning outcomes

One of the more specific elements of the roadmap is the inclusion of measurable learning outcomes.

OpenAI did not provide details of how those outcomes will be assessed, what measures INSEAD intends to use or when individual parts of the roadmap will be implemented.

That leaves the partnership at an early stage in terms of evaluating educational results, but the stated plan places measurement alongside deployment as INSEAD expands use of ChatGPT Edu.

The institution also plans to explore AI-powered case studies, an established part of business school teaching, as well as personalized learning and faculty support.

INSEAD operates across four regions, with locations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America. The new agreement makes ChatGPT Edu available across the institution to students, faculty and staff.
