iCode introduces early coding curriculum in US schools with Codie Blocks

iCode, a US-based computer science education provider, is adding Codie Blocks to its nationwide curriculum to introduce coding to early learners.
The program will be implemented across more than 70 iCode franchise locations as part of daytime early childhood classes.
Codie Blocks, created by Codie LLC, is designed to help children code before they can read or write. The platform combines physical coding toys, an interactive app, and classroom lesson plans that use emoji-based blocks to teach problem-solving and creative thinking. The system is based on Mia & Codie, a children’s TV show broadcast on PBS member stations.
Abid Abedi, chief executive officer at iCode, says, “This partnership gives us a complete solution for younger kids. Codie Blocks is intuitive, fun, and educational—perfect for introducing preschoolers to the foundations of coding.”
As part of the rollout, each iCode center will receive Codie hardware kits, exclusive lesson plans, and access to an educator portal with unplugged activities and video content. The program is also being promoted through PBS member stations and will feature this fall on Scholastic and Scratch homepages.
Codie founder Don Moody, an Emmy Award-winning producer, says, “We’re thrilled to partner with iCode. Together, we’re preparing kids for an AI-powered world by giving them the tools to think like coders—before they even learn to read.”
The companies say the aim is to prepare children for a future shaped by AI and digital skills, beginning with foundational coding concepts introduced at an early age.
