Good Things Foundation’s Founder and CEO Helen Milner announces retirement after 15 years at digital inclusion charity

Helen Milner, Founder and Chief Executive at Good Things Foundation, has announced her retirement from the digital inclusion charity after 15 years of service.

Under Milner’s leadership, Good Things Foundation has built a network of more than 7,000 organizations and in the last three years alone supported more than 1.3 million people.

“Good Things is a wonderful organisation with a clear mission and strategy, full of dedicated and clever people. Working with our strategic partners and alongside the government, 2026 is a good time to pass the leadership into new hands,” Milner says.

“Digital Inclusion in the UK is now on the political, business, economic and social justice agenda, and in this pivotal moment, I am proud to see Good Things Foundation continue to lead the way, having a life-changing impact on people who need it the most.”

Earlier this year, Milner, alongside the charity’s Director of Evidence and Engagement Dr. Emma Stone, joined the Government’s Digital Inclusion Action Committee (DIAC). The initiative aligns with the government's broader Plan for Change, which aims to increase economic growth, enhance digital skills, and reduce regional inequalities.

After retirement, Milner says she will continue in her board and advisory roles, while balancing her time between the UK and Australia.

Liz Williams, Chair of the Board of Trustees adds: “On behalf of the Board of Trustees and staff, I would like to thank Helen for her unwavering dedication and commendable achievements. Her leadership has significantly advanced the agenda, and her impact on social and economic inclusion has been nothing short of inspirational.

“Our mission to fix the digital divide is more critical than ever. We remain committed to working alongside our network, strategic partners, and the Government to ensure more people feel connected, confident, and safe online.”
