Good Things Foundation’s Helen Milner and Dr. Emma Stone join UK Government’s Digital Inclusion Action Committee

Baroness Hilary Armstrong
Good Things Foundation’s Chief Executive Helen Milner OBE and Director of Evidence and Engagement Dr. Emma Stone have joined the Government’s Digital Inclusion Action Committee (DIAC).
Established by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), the DIAC is a new expert advisory body chaired by Baroness Hilary Armstrong aiming to steer, scrutinize, and support government efforts to reduce digital exclusion and ensure equitable access for everyone.
The DIAC will include three sub-committees that focus on industry leadership and partnership, local delivery and inclusive digital services. Milner and Stone have been named as co-chairs of the industry leadership and partnership sub-committee as a job share.
The initiative aligns with the government's broader Plan for Change, which aims to increase economic growth, enhance digital skills, and reduce regional inequalities.
Helen Milner OBE, Chief Executive of Good Things Foundation, comments: “Digital exclusion remains one of the UK’s most urgent inequalities. I’m honoured to bring our national insight and community experience to this important work and to help ensure the government’s strategy reaches everyone.”
Dr. Emma Stone, Director of Evidence and Engagement, adds: “We must base our digital future on evidence, equity, and lived experience. I’m proud to join the Committee to help shape inclusive systems that work for people who are too often left behind.”
Good Things Foundation says the appointments reflect its “leadership in digital inclusion, having engaged over one million people with digital inclusion support alongside its community partners in the National Digital Inclusion Network”.
