Gemini for Education supports more than 1 million Italian students thanks to integration with universities
Google’s Gemini for Education AI tool is now reaching more than 1 million university students in Italy thanks to partnerships with more than half of Italian higher education institutions.
Students and staff at partner universities are giving access to enterprise-grade data protection and new features such as Guided Learning, which acts as a personalized AI tutor.
Google is also supporting Italian students and faculty to develop AI literacy skills through schemes such as Google Career Certificates and its Google Skills platform.
In one example of how Google is supporting higher education in Italy, the University of Pavia has integrated the Gemini API into its bioinformatics platform. This allows students to grasp real-world clinical scenarios using simulated genetics data. This helps the university bridge the gap between technical skills and clinical context.
All higher education institutions are invited to access Gemini for Education, with data protections and expanded access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, free of charge.
