Efekta AI launches new AI features for English language learners in Brazil
Efekta says the new features represent the largest AI learning trial in the world.
The new features include AI induction, tailored teaching sessions, customized content and AI-powered learning objectives tailored to student interests and course level.
Addi also offers roleplay where the assistant sets up dynamic scenarios for them to practice the English they have learned in real-life scenarios.
The development is part of Efekta’s wider plans to expand into further countries in a bid to increase access to English lessons. The app is currently being rolled out to teachers in Rwanda in a scheme that aims to teach 38,000 teachers to a B2-level in English by 2027.
Stephen Hodges, CEO of Efekta, says: “Deploying these new AI features at such a large scale demonstrates that we are taking another step towards making high-quality, personalised education accessible to all. Addi's capabilities empower students while also freeing teachers to inspire and focus on more meaningful interactions. This is the future of education – engaging, inclusive, driven by cutting-edge technology – enhancing economic growth through increased participation in the global economy, and providing equitable access to world-class English instruction at scale, and at a per student cost no greater than a textbook.”
“Efekta’s technology is a milestone for education overall. In the past, flipped learning moved content delivery outside of class, giving teachers more time for practice and interaction. Now, AI takes this even further, enabling truly personalised learning anywhere at any time. The result: a classroom that moves at each learner’s pace, without losing the shared experience of learning together, creating a more efficient and collaborative learning environment,” adds Dr Christopher McCormick, Chief Academic Officer at Efekta.
