Afya Limited shares Q1 results as it reports 100 percent occupancy in its integrated medicals schools
Brazilian medical education group Afya reports increased revenue and income for Q1 2025 and more than 317,000 users in its ecosystem.

Afya reports a 16.4 percent increase in net revenue between Q1 2024 and Q1 2025, with net revenue totalling R$936.4 million (Brazilin Reais). The company attributes this increase in revenue to higher tickets in medicine courses and increased occupancy.
Net income increased 23.4 percent year-on-year reaching R$257 million and adjusted net income increased 17.1 percent, reaching R$293.9 million. Afya says this growth is primarily driven by improved operational performance, partially offset by a higher tax rate compared to the previous year.
Afya also reports a total of 317,000 users in its ecosystem and a 100 percent occupancy rate in all of its integrated medical schools.
Afya cited the example of a medical campus in Salvador, which had an occupancy rate below 60 percent when it was acquired by the company. The campus reached nearly full occupancy within two intake processes under Afya.
In a statement, Afya claims: “This highlights the ongoing value of our ecosystem and the increasing recognition of our brand across the country.”
Afya says it is reaffirming its guidance for 2025, which considers the successful acceptance of new students for the first semester later this year.
The company adds: “Looking ahead, Afya remains committed to its mission: to provide an integrated ecosystem of education and medical practice solutions throughout the entire medical journey. We continuously strive to support healthcare professionals' development, ongoing learning, and productivity. We are proud of our achievements and excited about what lies ahead.”
Last year, Afya announced that Shobhna Mohn had resigned from its Board of Directors. In a press release, Afya said: “Mrs. Mohn's decision is unrelated to any matter associated with the Company, its operations, policies, or practices.”
